On Tuesday, the Town of Pincourt inaugurated the Passerelle des Arts project, an initiative designed to showcase culture and beautify the area. Artistic design of the Passerelle began in autumn 2023, and several partnerships were required, including an agreement with the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications.

The Passerelle des Arts consists of two sections of artwork. The first section is located between Rue Bellevue and Rue Loiselle, under the theme of neighbourhood life. It was designed using recycled materials.

The second section is located between rue Loiselle and boulevard Cardinal-Léger, with the theme of trees. To ensure the longevity of the works, they have been treated to withstand the four seasons of Quebec. The aim is to adorn the fences with magnificent works of art, highlighting the neighborhoods and vegetation of Pincourt.

A fruitful and generous collaboration

The Town of Pincourt's Design Committee played a key role in setting up this project. More than 30 dedicated volunteers contributed to the creation of these works of art, free of charge. The Recreation and Public Works departments also played a key role.

“I am extremely grateful to everyone who contributed to the creation of the Passerelle des Arts. Local artists have put their hearts into it, in order to give back in turn. This artistic achievement is unique in that it has been carried out entirely on a voluntary basis. Thanks to this collective commitment, Pincourt artists have been discovered,” says Denise Bergeron, President of the Pincourt Design Committee and Town Councillor.

Les Passerelles des Arts represents a significant investment in culture and in uniting our community. This project beautifies our urban spaces, as well as showcasing our local artists. The result is magnificent,” said Pincourt mayor Claude Comeau with pride.

Residents and visitors are invited to admire the Passerelle des Arts and celebrate this unique achievement.
