A new director at the head of the Terrasse-Vaudreuil Fire Department

At its regular meeting held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, the Terrasse-Vaudreuil municipal council appointed Sylvain Lalonde to the position of Director of its Fire Safety Department.

A resident of the municipality since 1967, Mr. Lalonde joined the ranks of the Terrasse-Vaudreuil Volunteer Fire Department in 1997, before being appointed Assistant Director in 2009 and finally Acting Director last November.

Director Lalonde has been a professional firefighter for 35 years. A 1987 graduate of the École des pompiers, he has also been an officer with the City of Montreal for over 21 years.

“It's reassuring to be able to count on an experienced person who knows his community very well and lives there every day. The municipal council would like to thank our new fire chief for accepting this mandate, and wishes him every success in his new responsibilities,” says Michel Bourdeau, the municipality's mayor.
