Always a popular event, the 18th edition of the Festival de cirque de Vaudreuil-Dorion will welcome the Boogie Wonder Band and rapper FouKi.

Unlike previous years, the Festival will take place from June 21 to 23, again on Jeannotte Street, which will be transformed into a funfair for the occasion.

The Festival opens on June 21 with DJ Cidoine on the decks. At 9 p.m., the renowned Boogie Wonder Band will follow.

“We're proud to be able to offer a diversified and festive event to the public. We want people to take full advantage of the three days of festivities. The street program will be announced later in May,” said Vincent Bastien, Director of the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion's Service des loisirs et de la culture.

A salute to the Cowboys Fringants

Those who have left their mark on the Festival de cirque Vaudreuil-Dorion, on four occasions in 2010, 2013, 2018 and 2022, will be saluted and, in particular, the great performer Karl Tremblay, whose death has left a great void.

Le Band de la Cité, opening for FouKi on June 22, will present a medley in tribute to the Cowboys Fringants. This musical group, made up of former students from Cité-des-Jeunes high school, made its first appearance at FCVD in 2013. The young voices of the Sainte-Madeleine school choir will also join forces on June 21 to sing the lyrics of songs by Quebec's most beloved band.

Finally, there'll be plenty of emotion on June 23, when the traditional Fête nationale fireworks display will light up the skies over Vaudreuil-Dorion to the sound of Karl Tremblay's voice.
The Fête nationale

As in previous years, musical performances on Bastille Day are part of the Festival de cirque Vaudreuil-Dorion program. The spirit will be festive with the Spectacle 2Pierrots, featuring one of their former musicians, Simon Morin, who worked at the legendary bar for eight years.

Some will remember Simon Morin's participation in Star Académie in 2012, La Voix in 2015 and the French TV show The Voice: La Plus Belle Voix in 2018. As opening act, DJ Kleancut will get the celebrations underway and get the crowd moving. Twice nominated at the Gala de l'ADISQ, his productions have accumulated 500,000 listens on Spotify and a million views on YouTube.

He has performed all over the world, and some may have seen him perform last year at OSHEAGA.The festivities will conclude with the presentation of fireworks.

“The municipal council is delighted to offer the citizens of Vaudreuil-Dorion and the surrounding region the 18th edition of this popular event. Budgetary issues have forced us to reduce the amounts allocated to the FCVD, but I salute the teams who have demonstrated agility and creativity to ensure that the program remains diversified and interesting. The Fête nationale will celebrate the francophone repertoire, including that of a group that has left its mark on our event, Les Cowboys Fringants,” declared Mayor Guy Pilon.
