From Saint-Clet to Vaudreuil-Dorion
A look back at the demonstration by Vaudreuil-Soulanges agricultural producers
Hundreds of farmers from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region gathered on Chemin Sainte-Julie in Saint-Clet on Wednesday for a mobilization activity that took the form of a pacifist demonstration.
More than 100 tractors and pickup trucks made their way from Cité-des-Jeunes to Vaudreuil-Dorion, where a line of honor awaited them. On site, Syndicat de l'UPA de Vaudreuil-Soulanges president Ange-Marie Delforges addressed the farmers.
"Our objective with this peaceful demonstration is to demonstrate to the public the major challenges we face on a daily basis and our generalized fed-upness. We also want to reinforce the importance of our demands through the number of producers present, while sending a cry from the heart to the government to demonstrate our concerns about our future in agriculture. Our two other objectives are to demonstrate our professionalism and demand change," she added.
Here's a look back at this mobilization.
