Marilyne Picard, Member of the National Assembly for Soulanges, today confirmed, on behalf of Mathieu Lacombe, Minister of Culture and Communications, Minister responsible for Youth and Minister responsible for the Outaouais region, the awarding of $2906 for the À la découverte de ma communauté project in Soulanges, as part of the Call for Culture and Inclusion 2023-2024 projects.

"Congratulations to the Parrainage civique de Vaudreuil-Soulanges team". "À la découverte de ma communauté" is a superb creative project that aims to foster inclusion and a sense of belonging for people living with an intellectual disability or on the autism spectrum. I'm convinced that this initiative will have positive spin-offs for our entire community", said Marilyne Picard, MNA for Soulanges and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Health and Seniors.

This program is designed to support cultural projects that benefit people at risk of exclusion or on low incomes, and to subsidize projects that use culture as an intervention tool to tackle social problems.

"I'm delighted that the "Culture and Inclusion" call for projects has enabled so many initiatives to see the light of day in our various regions. It's with projects like these that we can boost the cultural participation of Quebecers, an important factor in social development," enthused Mathieu Lacombe, Minister of Culture and Communications, Minister responsible for Youth and Minister responsible for the Outaouais region.

"Culture is a real driver of social innovation and strengthens community cohesion. For me, it's essential that it be put to good use in the fight against poverty and social exclusion. I salute the cultural and community organizations that have responded to our call for projects, so that together we can build a more inclusive Quebec", stated Chantal Rouleau, Minister responsible for Social Solidarity and Community Action.

Nationwide, 74 cultural organizations will receive a total of $1.1 million in government funding to carry out their projects.
