With the Provincial Women's Hockey Championships just around the corner, Hockey Québec and the Hockey Lac St-Louis organizing committee are now ready to welcome women ice hockey players from across Quebec to the Chevrolet Cup 2024.

This new edition of the provincial championships will see the participation of nearly 2,500 players in 162 women's teams, from April 11 to 14, 2024. A total of 313 matches will be played at seven designated competition sites. The Vaudreuil-Dorion arena will host the M13A and M13AA teams.

"It is with great pleasure that we launch the activities of the Chevrolet Cup, women's division, as all our volunteers have been preparing for several weeks to welcome the participating teams to the various competition sites in the beautiful Lac St-Louis region. On behalf of the members of the regional committee, I would like to thank Hockey Québec for entrusting us with the Chevrolet Cup for a second consecutive year. I would also like to underline the exceptional work of the people involved at all levels of the process, who will help make the Provincial Championships a great success," said Glen Maxheleau, regional coordinator of the 2024 Chevrolet Cup - women's division.

Considered by many to be the highlight of the minor ice hockey season, the Chevrolet Cup brings together the best teams in Quebec, from the U11 to Junior divisions, to compete for top honours in this provincial competition.

"All the preparations have been designed to offer players, spectators, officials, dignitaries and volunteers a warm welcome worthy of the provincial championships. I would like to sincerely thank all those who took part in organizing this event," said Jean-Pierre Fortier, President of Hockey Lac St-Louis.

François Hamel, Honorary Provincial President and Regional Director for Eastern Canada (Chevrolet), and Kim St-Pierre, Regional Honorary President and member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, will preside over this latest edition of the women's provincial ice hockey championships.

"I hope it will inspire little girls to go and watch the games, and others to ask their parents to play hockey like I did a few years ago. I was lucky enough to grow up in Lac St-Louis and I was one of the only girls who played in my younger days. It's incredible to see the evolution of women's league, in terms of players, coaches, referees and administrative staff," says Kim St-Pierre.

"This major event is the result of the sustained involvement of several hundred volunteers from the Lac St-Louis region. We are extremely grateful to them for their major involvement in organizing the Provincial Championships, and for promoting women's hockey through this competition," added Stéphane Auger, Hockey Québec's Executive Director of Hockey Operations.

Steven Palmieri, District Sales Manager for the Eastern Region and Chevrolet representative, concludes: "Chevrolet Dealers of Quebec is proud to be associated with Hockey Quebec for a second consecutive year with the Chevrolet Cup. This is the continuation of a three-year partnership that is very close to our hearts, and which allows us to put the success of young people at the heart of our interests. Sport is an important part of young people's lives, enabling them to grow and develop. At Chevrolet, we're happy to support them and encourage them to give their best."
