Société Historique de Saint-Lazare
An exhibition paying tribute to a significant personality at Saint-Lazare
The Société Historique de Saint-Lazare pays tribute to Gérald Sarault, a retired Saint-Lazare priest who passed away last July. The initiative will run until the end of November in the SHSL showcase in the entrance hall of Saint-Lazare town hall.
Mr. Sarault, a Saint-Lazare native who served as Saint-Lazare's parish priest for a long time and who joined the Société historique, was truly an outstanding figure for the people of Saint-Lazare and throughout the region. That's why the SHSL has dedicated this exhibition to him, following his death last summer.
Mr. Sarault, who retired in 2019, was head of the Saint-Lazare Catholic Church for 35 years. During his clerkship, he married and baptized families spanning three generations. Despite his retirement, he remained active in his community.
"We are delighted to present our recent exhibition dedicated to Gérald Sareault. Numerous artifacts, archives and items that belonged to Father Sareault and his family, as well as many photos, are proudly on display to pay tribute to this exceptional man who contributed so much to community life in Saint-Lazare and touched the lives and hearts of people throughout the region. Thank you and Bravo to our SHSL colleagues: Gisèle Gareau, Manon Leroux and Lyne Arbec for their remarkable work in presenting our 4th exhibition. You can visit the exhibition in the SHSL cabinet in the entrance hall of City Hall during regular opening hours", says the organization on its social networks.
For those interested, it is possible to visit the exhibition during regular City Hall opening hours, Monday to Thursday, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm. Friday hours are 9am to 12pm.
