Fruits and vegetables in exchange for work time
Market gardening in Saint-Polycarpe
Ferme Natura offers an artisan farm experience to people who would like to enjoy free vegetables, in exchange for time spent working on the farm. From April to November, the tasks are varied, but a lot of weeding is involved.
No experience is necessary, just an interest in working with your hands outdoors, and a desire to have access to fresh, free vegetables. Depending on the option chosen, people will leave with vegetables picked the same day, can sign up for a free vegetable basket, or have access to vegetables year-round.
Ferme Natura is a small, diversified vegetable farm that produces over 95 varieties of vegetables and herbs certified organic by Ecocert Canada. Most of the farm's produce is sold without intermediaries (short circuit): baskets, harvest shares, the Coop CSUR Marché Écolocal website and via the Vaudreuil-Dorion outdoor market in the Biotope store's courtyard (see the farm's website: www.fermenatura.wixsite.com/fermenatura).
A special activity is planned for Saturday, April 27, 2024 (postponed to Saturday, May 4, if the weather doesn't cooperate) where the public is invited to an onion transplanting event. Save these dates in your calendar, more details to follow.
