The JC Perreault complex in Saint-Roch-de-L'Achigan was the scene of a vibrant show last weekend, as cheerleading teams from across the province met for the provincial championship organized by the Cheer Québec federation. Here are the results for teams from the G-Force association, the cheerleading arm of Club Gymini de Vaudreuil-Dorion. G-Force offers recreational, pre-competitive and competitive teams.

Eclipse (Prep U-12 Level 1)

Under the direction of coaches Emma Béchard and Emma Johnson, the Éclipse team placed 9th out of 11 teams. Their pyramid was particularly noted for its execution. The coaches expressed their pride in their athletes' performance, noting a steady reduction in deduction points from one competition to the next.

Galaxy (U-12 Level 1)

The Galaxy team's infectious energy lit up the competition. Despite a last-minute change of team member, successfully replaced by Xavier Béchard, team spirit and outstanding performance were the order of the day. As a reward, the team won the special sportsmanship prize of $250.

Troopers (U-12 Level 2)

The Troopers team continues to demonstrate its excellent work. Despite some obstacles, they represented their team with distinction, honoring their training and team spirit.

Skywalkers (U-16 Level 3)

Despite an injury and the last-minute addition of a substitute, the Skywalkers team impressed with an energetic performance that ranked them 5th out of 7. Their resilience and perseverance were commended, and the team is already gearing up for the next competition in Niagara Falls in April.

Knights (U-18 Level 5)

The Knights team showed great resilience throughout the competition. Their ambitious goal was achieved with flying colors, displaying solid stunts in the first day of competition and remarkable showmanship in the second. Their fall-free performance in the gymnastics sections is testament to their progress.

Goldies (Open - Level 2 ST)

Despite the many changes since their last competition, the Goldies team shone on the mat. Their determination and hard work resulted in a complete routine that impressed the audience and judges alike. These efforts have been rewarded with some fine improvements, heralding a promising end to the season for the team. The team is provincial champion in its category.

Rebels (Open - Level 4 ST)

The Rebels team put in an impressive performance to take second place. Their impeccable routine, crowned by a zero hit, demonstrated the team spirit and determination that characterize this team. Coaches Justine Laprise and Elisabeth Quesnel expressed great pride in their athletes.

The G-Force Association

Cheerleading is a mixed sport discipline that was on show at the 2018 Olympic Games. Cheerleading develops flexibility, strength, coordination, teamwork, perseverance and self-confidence.

Today, cheerleading consists of a mix of acrobatics, floor gymnastics, dance and jumps, all set to dynamic music. The acrobatics part involves the execution of human pyramids. The gymnastics part uses the main movements and sequences of tumbling.
