Smiles and fun were the order of the day
Hudson's St. Patrick's Day Parade in pictures
On Saturday, March 16, the Town of Hudson held its traditional St. Patrick's Day Parade in the heart of the village. Young and old, local residents and non-residents alike, were invited to take their places along the route to admire the procession.
For the past 11 years, the St. Patrick's Day parade has been a Hudson staple. This year, it began at 1 p.m. at Westwood Senior High School, before heading north along côte Saint-Charles Street. The parade then moved east on Main Street before continuing along Main Street to end at the Community Centre.
For history buffs, St. Patrick's Day, held this Sunday, March 17, is a Christian holiday that celebrates the patron saint of Ireland. The latter was an evangelist who, according to legend, explained the concept of the Holy Trinity to the Irish during a sermon using a shamrock. This plant later became the symbol of Ireland, along with the official emblem, the Celtic harp.
As you can see from the images taken during Neomedia's visit to the Parade, many citizens were on hand to make sure they didn't miss any of the celebrations.
