An athlete from Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot makes her mark on the international sports scene
From February 15 to 21, Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot resident Coralie Demers took part in the Elite Canada competition in Langley, just outside Vancouver. This was Coralie's first official competition in the Junior High Performance category, which brings together the best gymnasts in her age group in Canada.
According to her coaching staff, the young woman demonstrated remarkable consistency and stability, and achieved impressive results, including 4th place overall on apparatus and a silver medal on uneven bars.
On her return from Vancouver, two pieces of good news awaited Coralie:
- She was selected by Gymnastics Canada to represent Canada in the individual and team competition at the prestigious L'International Gymnix competition, held in Montreal next weekend, in the Junior High Performance category.
- She has also been selected to represent Canada in the Junior High Performance category at the prestigious Trofeo Città di Jesolo di Ginnastica artistica, just outside Venice, Italy, in April.
