He appeared in court for a second arson attack in December 2023
Walmart arson: Luciano Minisini Burke was no stranger to crime
On February 20, police officers from the Vaudreuil-Dorion MRC arrested an 18-year-old Hudson man in connection with two arsons that had occurred in recent months in Vaudreuil-Dorion and Piedmont.
On February 20, around 9:30 a.m., police officers from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Est MRC were called to the scene of a fire at a big-box store on Boulevard de la Gare in Vaudreuil-Dorion. The premises were evacuated, and one person suffered smoke inhalation at the time of the incident.
On December 13, 2023, the same individual was involved in another arson attack on a residence under construction on Chemin des Achillés in Piedmont. No one was injured in this incident.
Thanks to the joint investigative efforts of the MRC de Vaudreuil-Dorion, the MRC des Pays-d'en-Haut and the Sûreté du Québec's Major Crime Investigation Division, the man was arrested on the same day as the latest incident. He appeared at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse on February 21 and March 1, charged with arson in connection with both events.
Our SQtv-Sûreté du Québec YouTube channel was present at the scene of the second event and captured images.
