A new KUPA station has been installed
Cité-des-Jeunes Arena: hydration without non-refillable bottles
Since autumn 2023, a new feature has been attracting the attention of visitors to the Cité-des-jeunes arena. A Station KUPA, an innovative water dispenser, was installed by the new intermunicipal administration to offer the arena's various users a variety of hydration options, while eliminating the need for single-use plastic bottles.
Designed by a young Quebec company, the KUPA Station is a modern water cooler that offers much more than traditional water by providing a range of options, including sparkling, flavored, vitaminized water and even hydrating solutions with electrolytes.
"For a fraction of the price of commercial beverages, athletes can fill their bottles on the spot with electrolyte-enriched water," explains Claude Comeau, Mayor of Pincourt. These drinks are the perfect answer to players' need for rapid rehydration." There are flavours to suit every taste: Pineapple-coconut, raspberry-lemon, melon-raspberry, raspberry, hibiscus, lemon, melon, grapefruit, black cherry and strawberry.
"Thanks to the KUPA station, single-use plastic bottles are a thing of the past! Users can choose from a range of waters, fill their own water bottle and help reduce plastic waste," says Michel Bourdeau, mayor of Terrasse-Vaudreuil.
In addition to enhancing the hydration experience, Station KUPA reinforces the commitment of the municipalities of Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot, Pincourt and Terrasse-Vaudreuil to environmental sustainability.
"By eliminating the need for single-use plastic bottles, the station actively contributes to the reduction of plastic waste, thus aligning sport with an eco-responsible approach," mentions Danie Deschênes, mayor of Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot.
