The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion's Errances initiative is back for a third year! This time, the fixed-duration festival will instead take the form of a series of in situ and ambulatory performances preceding local events in the city, as part of the summer programming.

In the summer of 2024, Errances will offer different presentation contexts at multiple locations in the city, taking place in both afternoon and evening. The call is open to theater, dance, poetry, puppetry, multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and experimental projects. Artists can apply in two categories: 

- Youth (ages 5 to 14) - July 3 and 17, between 7 and 8 p.m. (exact time to be confirmed) - Two projects will be selected.

- General public (average age 40 to 70) - July 9, 16, 23 and 30 and August 6 and 13, from 7 to 7:20 p.m., prior to the Rythmes d'été evenings (music show) - Six projects will be selected.

The works must be ambulatory and non-technical (a loudspeaker can be provided), lasting 15 to 20 minutes. They will be presented once in situ (either in a neighborhood park, or in the Parc de la Maison-Valois).

We're looking for living arts projects that are openly critical, rigorous in thought and simple in execution. Artists should consider that the presentation context demands a certain flexibility, and that works will be presented to an audience that is as much amateur and novice as it is art-loving. Please take this into consideration when submitting your project.We're not looking for animation projects, but living artworks.

The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion offers :

-  a fee of $1,200 for a 15-20 minute performance
- comprehensive support for the presentation of the project (coordination support, communication and publicity surrounding the presentation of the project, hospitality on the evening of the event, lodge with snacks, etc.).The City cannot offer any reimbursement for travel or accommodation.Photo and video archiving is not included.The call aims to reach out to all communities, and has a mandate to apply a representativeness of aesthetics, languages, thoughts and cultural horizons. Interested parties have until midnight April 4, 2024 to submit a project. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Selected projects will receive a response by the end of May 2024.After this date, if you have not received a response, you will be invited to write to us for information on the decision (potential reasons and comments surrounding the project).Feedback is important to us and we are keen to engage in dialogue about unsuccessful proposals.We know the impact this can have on an artist's career. That said, given the number of projects received, comments may be succinct.
