LATEST NEWS: Fatal accident in Saint-Zotique: truck driver charged
On February 29, police officers from the Sûreté du Québec de Vaudreuil-Dorion Major Crime Investigation Division made an arrest in connection with a fatal collision that occurred on July 2, 2023 in Saint-Zotique.
James Douglas Cameron, 59, of Nova Scotia, was arrested by police for dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm. He appeared today at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse by videoconference in connection with the charges.
On July 2, 2023, at around 10:45 a.m., the driver of a heavy truck on Highway 20 westbound near Saint-Zotique was unable to stop due to slowing traffic. It collided with a vehicle carrying five occupants. Sadly, the collision claimed the lives of two children and left three other occupants with serious injuries.
