On behalf of Sonia Bélanger, Minister responsible for Seniors and Minister Delegate for Health, Marilyne Picard, MNA for Soulanges, announces a grant of $150,150 to Carrefour Bienveillance 50+, formerly the Grand Rassemblement des aînés de Vaudreuil et Soulanges, as part of the Initiatives de travail de milieu auprès des aînés en situation de vulnérabilité (ITMAV) program.

This funding follows on from the call for projects launched last summer, and will enable us to increase the number of community workers in our communities, so that we can reach and support more vulnerable seniors. This call for projects also enables us to support social geriatrics initiatives currently being deployed.

"I'm delighted with this support, which will make a difference for seniors. It's a measure that contributes to keeping them healthy and safe at home. I would like to thank the team and volunteers at Carrefour Bienveillance 50+ for the support and guidance they provide on a daily basis to the Vaudreuil-Soulanges community," said Marilyne Picard.

The ITMAV program provides financial assistance to community organizations to set up or maintain outreach workers who reach out to and support seniors in vulnerable situations or at risk of becoming frail, in order to :

- Identify seniors in need;
- Help them find the resources they need;
- Help break the isolation of seniors, promote their health and well-being, and support them in remaining at home.
