Complete overhaul of Duckett Street in Les Coteaux to come

At the regular meeting of the Coteaux municipal council held this Monday, February 19, elected officials expressed their desire to proceed with a complete overhaul of the Duckett Street infrastructure. 

"All the underground pipes on this street need to be completely rebuilt due to their age. They need to be replaced. To reduce the cost of the work, we will be applying for a grant from PRIMEAU 2023," explained Mayor Sylvain Brazeau at the public meeting. 

With this in mind, and in order to finance the work, the elected officials have tabled a notice of motion to contract a borrowing by-law for $1,030,400. This should be adopted at the March meeting, as required by procedure. 

The PRIMEAU grant is expected to amount to $562,000, representing just over half the total estimated cost of the work. General manager Paméla Nantel indicated that the work should be completed by summer or autumn at the latest.
