To benefit the Jean-Lapointe Foundation
The 28-Day Alcohol-Free Challenge kicks off in less than 24 hours
This Thursday, February 1, marks the start of the 28-Day Alcohol-Free Challenge to benefit the Jean-Lapointe Foundation. Vaudreuil-Soulanges residents are invited to take part in large numbers.
The aim of this initiative is to collect donations for the Fondation Jean Lapointe, which supports the work of the Maison Jean Lapointe in addiction treatment, research, awareness and prevention. Its expertise enables it to help people affected by addiction, both near and far.
The organization was founded 41 years ago, and since then has helped 40,000 people through its many services. A total of 15 caregivers work at the Maison Jean Lapointe to support the treatment process of the people who come there.
This year, the Jean Lapointe Foundation hopes to raise $1,000,000 to support the deployment of addiction prevention and treatment programs. At the time of writing, just over a third of the total, or $400,000, had been raised.
"The 28-Day Alcohol-Free Challenge is very close to my heart. It's a great opportunity to realize all the benefits of taking a break from drinking on our physical and mental health, as well as raising awareness of addiction-related problems," says Jean-Marie Lapointe.
The ambassadors for the 2024 edition of the 28-Day Alcohol-Free Challenge are Lou-Pascal Tremblay, Viirginie Coosa, Érich Preach, Danny St-Pierre, Ariel Charest, Mélissa Bédard and Félix-Antoine Tremblay.
