In Rigaud and Saint-Zotique
The Monique Fitzback Foundation supports two school projects in Vaudreuil-Soulanges
The Monique-Fitz-Back Foundation proudly announces that 104 school projects will be supported as part of the 2023-2024 edition of its Financial Assistance Program. Two of these initiatives will take place in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC, more specifically in the Rigaud and Saint-Zotique territories.
Spread across all administrative regions of the province, these projects will directly involve more than 8703 young people, from early childhood to CEGEP, including adult education.
The total value of the grants awarded is $93,895. Of this amount, $500 will go to Rigaud's École primaire de l'Épervière for its Ma classe nature project. This involves equipping students with individual backpacks, carts and exploration materials, so that they can develop their skills through nature classes. The activity will focus on the development of motor skills, eco-responsible gestures, autonomy and self-confidence.
This project is part of the Support for Outdoor Education program, which will bring 37 projects to life thanks to an investment of $18,200.
Students at École primaire de la Riveraine, in Saint-Zotique, will receive the same amount for their De l'ACTES à l'art! project. As part of this project, they will go from words to ACTS to reduce the amount of waste in the cafeteria by creating a mural to encourage sensible clothing purchasing.
This initiative is financed under the Climate Change program, which will see 31 projects across the province receive financial assistance totalling $50,000.
One hundred projects, one goal
All the projects share the common goal of mobilizing and raising awareness among young people at every stage, and encouraging their active involvement in achieving the objectives specific to each component. Particular attention has also been paid to initiatives that aim to bring about positive behavioural changes in young people and their communities.
"By carrying out environmental and social projects in their schools and among their peers, the young people of Quebec have the opportunity to learn that they too have the power to act to change the world. Our young people are creative and hopeful, and we're very proud to support their initiatives," says Marie-Hélène Gagnon, Executive Director of the Monique Fitz-Back Foundation.
