CSS des Trois-Lacs to adopt its 2023-2028 Space Requirements Plan in mid-February
In mid-February, the Centre de services scolaires des Trois-Lacs will adopt its 2023-2028 Space Needs Plan, which is still under development at the time of writing. In concrete terms, this document will be the result of a long-term process carried out in collaboration with the localities of Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
Earlier this week, Néomédia spoke with the mayor of Saint-Zotique, Yvon Chiasson. He indicated that a new elementary school would be built on the municipal territory in the next few years. Néomédia therefore asked questions on the subject and contacted the CSS des Trois-Lacs in search of answers.
In an e-mail, Alexandra Desrochers, coordinator of the General Secretariat and Communications Department of the CSS des Trois-Lacs, explained the process. "As part of their annual planning process for additional space needs, school service centers are required to conduct a consultation with the towns and municipalities in their territory. Through this process, towns and municipalities are invited to send us any information relating to their development that could modify space requirements (e.g. new real estate development)," she points out.
She adds that these consultations are necessary in order to better plan school infrastructure needs, maximize timelines and reduce costs. "The space planning process is the first step of many. It's too early to comment on future school catchment areas or to give timetables," she concludes.
