The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion's public works department recently commissioned a contractor to carry out pruning and tree-felling work in the Sauternes, Belle-Plage, Cheverny, Quinchien and Ruisseau Asselin/Bellerive woodlands during the winter period.

The aim of these operations is to control vegetation, cut down ash and dead trees, sanitary prune back-up trees and clear the Hydro-Québec network to reduce the risks associated with icing episodes, says the city. 

The work will also make backyards adjacent to wooded areas safer by preventing the breakage of fences, sheds and swimming pools.

On site, the crews unfortunately noted the presence of household waste on several occasions. Out of respect for the environment, and in compliance with current regulations, the Town is asking its residents to visit the Écocentre or, as a last resort, to participate in bulky waste collections to dispose of their various materials.
