Highway 40 in Rigaud was the scene of a road accident at 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10, when a semi-trailer overturned and ended up in the median after losing control. 

The incident occurred in the direction of Ottawa, and necessitated the closure of a portion of Highway 40 for several minutes to allow for the towing operation. "Traffic was rerouted to Exit 12, where road users could also return to the highway if they wished. The operation ended at around 11:10 a.m. and the situation returned to normal in the area during the last hour," confirms Camille Savoie, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec. 

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and Rigaud firefighters were on the scene to assist the driver. According to the Sûreté du Québec, the truck was carrying equipment at the time of the accident.
