Île-aux-Tourtes bridge: Ban trucking before reducing speed
Since last Monday, the speed limit on the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge has been lowered to 60 km/h, while in the construction zone on the approaches to the bridge, where more than one lane is open, the speed limit has remained at 70 km/h.
To ensure compliance with the speed limit, mobile photo radar units were installed.
On social networks, many motorists criticized this new measure, and in light of the many comments, Néomédia asked you if you agreed with the reduction in the speed limit.
Over 33% of respondents said that banning trucking on the bridge would be more appropriate than reducing the speed limit. A further 22.2% thought it unnecessary, given the constant congestion and the fact that it's virtually impossible to go faster than 60 km/h.
Another 22.2% think it's a good solution to avoid fender-benders. 20.4% of respondents agreed with the measure, while 1.9% said they were not affected by the situation.
