On chemin du Grand-Saint-Patrice
An $18 million mega-investment in Saint-Télesphore for poultry barns
Néomédia has learned that an investment of $18 million will be made on Chemin du Grand-Saint-Patrice in Saint-Télesphore. Nearly 6 barns will be built to house 150,000 free-range hens.
The municipality's mayor, David McKay, confirmed this to Néomédia today: "This project is underway, and one barn is already in place. An official announcement will be made in early 2024 with Burnbrae Farms, the initiator of the project".
As David McKay points out, "From 2035, it will be illegal to keep hens in cages. Chickens will be able to live in a greener, more eco-friendly environment, in greater freedom", he enthuses.
There's no doubt, agreed the mayor, that this new venture will create a number of jobs in the region. In early 2024, an official announcement of this major project will be held at the project site. More details to follow.
