Vaudreuil-Soulanges
MRC: Invitation to ecoresponsibility during the holiday season
In this holiday season, often synonymous with gifts and consumption, the Municipalité régionale de comté (MRC) of Vaudreuil-Soulanges would like to issue a few reminders to help citizens recover, recycle or reclaim their residual materials responsibly.
Vaudreuil-Soulanges ecocenter network
The ecocenters in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Rigaud and Saint-Zotique accept Christmas lights (no character structures, wreaths or other Christmas decorations), cardboard and old electronics (TVs, DVD, CD or video players, radios, computers, printers, etc.).
Polystyrene (Styrofoam and #6 plastic) from food containers, packaging or construction is accepted through the MRC's ecocenter network.
In addition, the network's four ecocentres will be closed on Sundays, December 24 and 31, 2023. In order to offer time slots during this period, the ecocentres in Vaudreuil-Dorion and Saint-Zotique will be open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, December 21, 22, 23 and 28, 29, 30, and the ecocentres in Rigaud and Pincourt will be open on Fridays and Saturdays, December 22, 23 and 29, 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Recyclable materials
Printed matter, paper containers and packaging, cardboard, glass, metal and plastic (including tissue paper, non-metallized wrapping paper, toy boxes, etc.) are accepted in the recyclables collection.
Organic materials
Share your leftovers with friends and family, freeze them or donate them to an organization that helps the underprivileged. Want to keep your old food out of the brown bin? Visit our Food Waste page for practical tips. Napkins, paper towels and parchment paper are accepted in the brown bin. However, compostable plastic dishes are not accepted, so please use washable or cardboard dishes instead.
If in doubt, citizens are invited to consult the sorting tool at www.tricycle-mrcvs.ca.
