Île-aux-Tourtes bridge: Nearly 50% of the population unsatisfied with measures put in place
Speed reductions, additional train departures, free public transit - in short, since the reconfiguration of traffic lanes on the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge, a number of measures have been put in place to alleviate traffic congestion.
Last week, Néomédia asked you if you were satisfied with the mitigation measures introduced by the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable.
Nearly 50% of respondents indicated that these measures were insufficient. 17.7% of readers said they were satisfied, but trucking should be banned, or at least restricted, on the bridge.
Although construction of the new Île-aux-Tourtes bridge has officially begun, 15.2% of respondents believe it should be accelerated. As for public transit, 7.6% of our readers believe that the Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM) should be more proactive in this area.
Finally, 7.6% of people said they were satisfied with the measures put in place, while 2.5% said they were not affected by the situation.
