For the Club optimiste de Rigaud's guignolée
Two calendars created by Madeleine Langlois for families in need
To support the Club optimiste de Rigaud's guignolée, photographer and Rigaud resident Madeleine Langlois is offering two calendars highlighting the landscapes of Vaudreuil-Soulanges and the town of Rigaud.
Madeleine Langlois has been presenting her photos as calendars and greeting cards since she was a teenager. She has been immortalizing the region's landscapes for over 25 years.
"I started selling calendars when I was a single mother, to earn a little extra income to buy Christmas presents for my children," she says.
Today, she's giving back with these two new calendars, as part of the profits from their sale will be donated to the Club optimiste de Rigaud's guignolée. Her calendars will help soften the holiday season for families struggling to make ends meet, a cause particularly close to the photographer's heart.
"A lot of people are going through a difficult time right now, and I thought I'd give to the next to make Christmas a little brighter for those in need in our community," adds Ms. Langlois.
After taking photos at numerous events in Rigaud over the past year with people of all ages, Madeleine Langlois realized just how involved the Optimist Club and many other organizations are in her town.
"I fell in love with the Rigaud community. I also saw that there were families in need. It broke my heart. That's when I came up with the idea of using my gift for photography to do some good in my community, and donating part of the proceeds from calendar sales to the Club optimiste de Rigaud. Even if it's a very modest gesture, everything counts," says the photographer.
This 19th edition of the regional calendar, bilingual and entirely designed here, as well as the special edition of Rigaud images, will be sold at the Rigaud Christmas Market on December 16 and 17 for $20.
