Île-aux-Tourtes bridge: exo bus routes free of charge
From Thursday, December 14, until the third lane of the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge reopens, all exo bus routes in the La Presqu'Île sector will be free of charge. This is in addition to exo routes 7, 10, 35, 40 and 91, which have been free since December 11. This request had been made by the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion.
STM bus routes 212 and 411 serving the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue and Baie-D'Urfé stations will also be free of charge. Riders must, however, purchase a valid ticket if they wish to transfer to the metro network.
Free public transit passes will also be available at the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue and Baie D'Urfé stations, and on the 11 Vaudreuil-Hudson train line. Passengers travelling from these stations will receive a free two-pass "ABC All-Modes" ticket for the outward and return train journeys, including connections with the bus, metro and REM networks.
Other mitigation measures in place
These mitigation measures are in addition to those already in place:
- Improving train service on line 11 Vaudreuil-Hudson by adding new
departures;
- Free tolls on Autoroute 30;
- Use of the shoulder by buses on Autoroute 40 westbound (towards Vaudreuil-Dorion), between Frédéric-Back and Boulevard des Anciens-Combattants, enabling public transit users to bypass congested areas;
- Synchronization of traffic lights on Highway 20 and increased police presence to ease traffic flow in the area.
