A young gymnast from Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot distinguished herself by taking part in the prestigious Combs-La-Ville International Tournament, held in the Paris suburbs from November 14 to 20. Competing in the Espoir category, she put in a fine performance that earned her a silver medal and a trophy.

Coralie Demers was selected by Gymnastics Canada to officially represent Canada at both the individual and team levels. This was her first official international assignment.

Her performance helped Team Canada 1 to 2nd place, just behind Italy, but ahead of France and all the other countries competing in the team event. The young woman returned home with a silver medal in her luggage and a trophy.
