A development camp for young Suroît ice hockey players
On December 27, 28, 29 and 30, dozens of young ice hockey players from the Suroît region will take to the ice at Aréna Saint Timothée in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield for a skills camp organized by Hockey Xtreme, in partnership with Académie Lauzon.
This is the fourth consecutive year that the two sports organizations have joined forces to get youngsters moving during the holiday school break. "All young people who play ice hockey, boys or girls, whatever their level, are welcome at this camp. There are still places available for those interested, and registration closes on December 18. Every year, participants enjoy their experience with us," says Sébastien Tremblay, President of Hockey Xtreme.
In concrete terms, the camp offers four days of on- and off-ice training, with four hours for each aspect, for a total of eight hours per day.
The camp is designed for youngsters who want to work on certain aspects of their game and arrive ready for the second half of the season. On the ice, a coach and four assistant coaches will ensure the development of the youngsters.
Major junior athletes from the Hockey Xtreme program will be present as coaches for the duration of the camp, sharing their knowledge with the youngsters in attendance.
During the sessions, the coaching staff will focus on individual tactics, such as puck protection, approaching the carrier, as well as important individual technical points to make the participant the best ice field hockey player possible.
The registration fee for interested youngsters is $280. To register, click here: https://hockeyxtreme.com/camp-des-f%C3%AAtes.
