Well-known local businessman Charles "Charley" Fordham passed away on Wednesday, November 29 at the age of 75. A resident of Saint-Zotique, he leaves behind not only his loved ones, but also an entire business community.

To Mr. Fordham, the people of Vaudreuil-Soulanges owe, among other things, the Metro grocery store in Saint-Zotique. A lifelong business enthusiast, Charles Fondham founded the Soulanges Business Association in 1992. He served as president from 1992 to 1995.

In his spare time, Mr. Fordham loved to play golf at his favourite club, Saint-Zotique. He was proud to point out that he had been a member since 1959. Aside from his passion for business, he is described as a kind-hearted man for whom family values were fundamental.

The Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (CCIVS) paid tribute to his memory. "Today, the Vaudreuil-Soulanges business community has lost one of its great builders. Founding president of the Soulanges business association (now part of the CCIVS), Mr. Charles Fordham always knew how to promote his region and its merchants. The Board of Directors and the entire CCIVS team send their most sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of this man of vision."

In addition to his wife, Mrs. Levac, Mr. Fordham is survived by his wife, Mrs. Levac. Fordham is survived by his children; Patrick (Nancy), Shirley-Ann (Maxime), Nathalie (Daniel) and Dominic (Nancy), his grandchildren; Moly, Sydney, Samuel (Océane), Mathys, Mikella, Eva, Lory and Nathan, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Levac family, the mother of his son Patrick ; Pauline Trottier and her family, as well as all her nieces and nephews, relatives and friends, not forgetting her almost-daughter Nathalie Léger and her almost-sister Manon Levac.

The family will welcome visitors on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on December 16, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., at the E. Montpetit & fils Funeral Complex, 1174 Principale Street, Saint-Zotique.

Funeral service will be held on December 16, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the Saint-Zotique church. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date in the Saint-Zotique cemetery.

The family invites those wishing to honour the memory of the deceased to make donations to the Suroit Hospital Foundation.
