The break brought about by the reopening of the fifth traffic lane on the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge last September was brief.

On November 17, the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable announced the closure of a lane due to the appearance of a seven-metre-long crack.

Just a few days later, the MTMD announced not only the complete closure of the bridge for two days, but also the removal of a second lane, bringing the number of lanes available to motorists to three.

This new configuration, with two lanes in the direction of the peak and one in the opposite direction, will be in place for at least a year.

All this upheaval on the local road network inspired this week's Néomédia question: Pont de l'Île-aux-Tourtes: will you continue to drive on it?
