Seven new strike days announced
Seven new strike days will be held from December 8 to 14 by members of the Syndicat de l'enseignement de la région de Vaudreuil (SERV), the Syndicat du personnel de soutien des Trois-Lacs (SPSTL) and the Syndicat du personnel professionnel de l'enseignement du Nunavik et de l'Ouest de Montréal (SPPENOM).
The Common Front will hold a press conference on this subject this Tuesday at 11am. Local union organizations held walkouts on November 21, 22 and 23. A first half-day strike was also held on November 6.
At the unions' request, a conciliator was appointed in the hope of moving negotiations forward. Premier François Legault also said last week that he was prepared to "improve" the wage offer in exchange for greater flexibility on the part of union members.
On December 8, SERV, SPSTL and SPPENOM members will join their colleagues from the Syndicat de l'enseignement des Seigneuries, who launched an unlimited general strike on November 23.
