Hudson named a Bird-Friendly City
The Town of Hudson was recently awarded Bird-Friendly Town certification, created by Nature Canada to encourage municipalities of all sizes across Canada to become safer and more attractive places for birds.
A fine reward for the community, which is home to Le Nichoir. Town councillor and chair of the Town of Hudson's environmental committee, Mark Gray, was very proud of the award.
"Hudson is a bird-friendly town by nature - with our canopied village surrounded by forests, our meadows and wetlands, and the Ottawa River a haven for waterfowl. Le Nichoir Wild Bird Conservation Centre was born and bred here, working for the conservation of wild birds through public education and rehabilitation for 27 years. We are delighted and very proud that our town has received this important recognition from Nature Canada."
