The Conseil des arts et de la Culture de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (CACVS) has chosen artist Gilles Samoisette, from the Municipalité des Cèdres, to occupy its premises from November 13 to February 15.

This selection was made as part of the artistic residency Regards: l'artiste au coeur de son territoire. Mr. Samoisette's medium is photogravure on a photopolymer plate.

As Mr. Samoisette writes: "There are many ways of appropriating and taming the environment in which we live. Going off the beaten track to see and feel differently is one of them. The territory we inhabit is more than the postcard vision we're too often shown." 

The CACVS is located at 280, Harwood, in Vaudreuil-Dorion, within the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges civic center. The CACVS Gallery showcases artists' work and offers them distinct, paid visibility. 

The CACVS offers an opportunity for creation and public visibility, as well as a creative space in the form of a 10-week artistic residency at its head office.
