Live from Chongqing, China, Vaudreuil-Dorion-based figure skating couple Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps have done it again, winning gold on the ISU Grand Prix circuit at the Cup of China.
In early November, the pair also won gold at Skate Canada International. The duo have now qualified for the ISU Grand Prix Final, to be held in Beijing, China, in early December.
Chicago's Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Vaudreuil-Dorion's Maxime Deschamps overcame fatigue and jet lag to top the podium for the third consecutive time this season.
They finished the pair event with a total of 201.48 points, according to Skate Canada.
"The last three weeks have been long, and today we had a lot of challenges to overcome. This week was meant to test our mental and physical strength, because I knew it would be tough, and it was," Stellato-Dudek confided with a laugh after the competition.
The next stop for Canada's skaters on the ISU Grand Prix circuit is the Espoo Grand Prix, to be held November 17-19, 2023 in Espoo, Finland.
