The Town of Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot is holding a Win a Generator contest to encourage residents to prepare their own family emergency plan. This will enable them to ensure a degree of autonomy while emergency services are put in place.

To participate, simply fill out the online form on the city's website (www.ndip.org) and confirm the measures taken: family emergency plan, ComAlerte registration, 72-hour kit, Moulin à paroles newsletter subscription.

Each confirmation of action taken will entitle the winner to a coupon for the draw for the Firman generator, valued at $550. The deadline for entries is November 30. The draw for the generator will take place on December 1.

"In Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot, your safety is a top priority, and we have a precise plan to be there for you in the event of a disaster, with the support of numerous partners," explains Danie Deschênes, Mayor of Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot. "It's important to remember that every citizen is also responsible for preparing his or her own emergency measures plan. Ideally, if your safety is not imminently compromised, you should have planned to provide for yourself and your family for 72 hours, to allow the city and emergency services to focus on the needs of those affected."

Communication is often crucial in an emergency. If you haven't already done so, the City would like to remind you of the importance of registering for the ComAlerte service, which is undoubtedly the best way to be informed quickly in the event of an emergency. The City's Facebook page is also a good tool for following the progress of a disaster and discovering the measures put in place by the City and its partners.
