No school transport
Strike: classes start later this Monday, November 6 at CCS des Trois-Lacs
Elementary teaching, support and professional staff at the Centre de services scolaires des Trois-Lacs will be on legal strike from midnight to 10:30 a.m. on November 6.
A large number of staff belong to these unions, and occupy positions in various job classes, such as secretary, daycare educator, teacher, special education technician, psychoeducator, and so on. Striking employees will be picketing in front of the Trois-Lacs School Service Centre facilities.
In view of the functions and roles of these staff members in the schools and day-care services, the CSSTL is advising that it is obliged to close day-care services and suspend morning classes during this strike.
In addition, transportation to and from school will be cancelled, as it is impossible for the CSSTL to reschedule due to the various constraints in the area.
Primary and secondary sectors
Elementary and high school students will be able to return to school as of noon. A communication from the school administration indicating where students will be picked up and at what time will be sent to parents in the near future. The usual end-of-day services will be maintained, i.e. daycare (for the primary sector) and school transport (for the primary and secondary sectors) at the end of the day.
Elementary students will need to have eaten lunch before arriving at school, as there will be no lunch period.
Adult and vocational training
Adult and vocational training courses will resume in the afternoon. A communication from management will be sent to them shortly.
If necessary, the Centre de services scolaires des Trois-Lacs will inform the public of the situation via its website at www.csstl.gouv.qc.ca.
