A first confrontation between the Pionniers de Soulanges and MacDonald High School
The Pionniers U14 D4 kicked off their season against MacDonald High School on Thursday afternoon.
The players were feverish before taking to the ice. With a fiery speech from head coach Marc Lauzon, the young D4s jumped onto the ice with fire in their eyes.
The first period was hotly contested between the two teams. The first 20 minutes were played neck-and-neck, with neither team allowing the other to take the lead.
Elliot Hallé managed to equalize the score before the end of the first half. He was voted player of the match.
Unfortunately, the Pioneers were unable to get back on track, despite some fine breakthroughs in the offensive zone in the second and third periods.
Despite this, the players showed great skill throughout the game. Goalkeeper Charles-Olivier Leduc also put in an excellent performance.
Final score: 5-1 MHS.
