A 53-foot truck was involved in an incident on eastbound Autoroute 20 at Les Cèdres at around 8:45 this morning. Traffic was disrupted for several minutes on the stretch of road following the incident.

"According to our information, the truck had a mechanical problem with its brakes, which may have caused the presence of smoke. No injuries or collisions have been reported. The highway was closed eastbound at kilometer 22 for 45 minutes to an hour to facilitate extinguishing and towing operations," explains Sûreté du Québec spokesman Louis-Philippe Ruel.

The incident required the intervention of Les Cèdres firefighters. The situation returned to normal on the affected section, and the obstruction in the left lane was dismantled within the last hour.
