Three talented soloists at the next Galileo concert
The next Galileo concert, entitled "Haydn's Creation", will take place on Saturday, December 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Église Sainte-Rose-de-Lima on Île Perrot, 155 boul. Perrot.
Composed in 1798, The Creation (Die Schöpfung) is not only considered one of Haydn's masterpieces - the crowning achievement of his creative career - but also the prototype of a genre that would come to the fore in the 19th century: the great German oratorio.
Galileo has called on three highly talented soloists, soprano Andrea Núñez, tenor Philippe Gagné and baritone Dion Mazerolle, and has joined forces with the Chœur classique de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, an ensemble celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, with a proven reputation for artistic quality and commitment to the practice of classical music and to the community it serves. They will sing the English version of the work.
Regular tickets are $45. Students wishing to purchase tickets will be charged $10, and seniors wishing to attend can purchase tickets for $38.
