The old ones will be collected as of November 20
New brown bins to be distributed November 6 at Town of Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot
Delivery of the large 240 L brown bins will begin on Monday, November 6 in the Town of Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot. Distribution is scheduled to end on November 24.
Residents will soon receive by mail an information card on the delivery of the new 240 L brown bins, as well as a reminder of the materials newly accepted in organic waste collections.
This size of bin will better meet needs, as it will be able to accommodate not only food waste, but also dead leaves, grass and other cuttings, flowers, small branches, houseplants and potting residues, says the city.
The use of a large bin will help prevent compostable materials from ending up in the household waste, due to a lack of space in the bin, and reduce landfill costs at the same time, it adds.
As for the small 45 L bin, two options are available to residents. It will be possible to keep the small bin for another use (keeping gardening equipment, de-icing salt or pet food, for example). Otherwise, it will be possible to dispose of it by placing it at the curb as of November 20, empty and rinsed.
We strongly suggest that you write your address on the new bin, in the space provided. Once bin distribution is complete, only 240 L bins will be emptied on collection days.
The bins will be collected throughout the territory over a two-week period.
