October 7, 8 and 9
A 25th edition to remember for Rigaud's Festival of Colors
The 25th Festival des couleurs de Rigaud will remain etched in our memories for a long time. Despite a shortened version due to the cancellation on Saturday, October 7, because of inclement weather, this iconic festival provided two days of festivities that brought together thousands of festival-goers from across Quebec.
The 25th edition was supposed to be launched by the Rockology group, which unfortunately had to be cancelled due to precipitation that made the grounds less safe for all performers.
On October 8, Alter Ego transported the audience to the 80s with pop, rock, and disco medleys. Later in the day, the Bleu Jeans Bleu group attracted thousands of spectators and energized the crowd with their eccentric universe.
On October 9, Guylaine Tanguay, the star of Quebec country music, delivered a unique performance to a crowd that took the opportunity to dance a few steps. The festivities continued throughout the day thanks to the contagious energy of the Lendemain de Veille group.
The evening concluded with the unforgettable performance by Jonathan Roy, who agreed to move his Saturday show due to the inclement weather. The atmosphere in the evening was magical!
New features and activities for everyone
For this 25th edition, the organizers introduced several novelties. For example, festival-goers had the chance to see their favourite artists perform on a large outdoor stage, and families could also enjoy a revamped youth zone with numerous free activities. The exclusive beer for the 25th edition, created in collaboration with the Microbrasserie des Trois Lacs, was also a great success among microbrewery beer enthusiasts.
In the Artisan Space, numerous original creations were on display through a record number of vendors. As for the Flavors Market, it once again delighted the taste buds of festival-goers who took the opportunity to stock up on delicious local products. Finally, throughout the festival, the 7 food trucks allowed for an enticing food offering at the festivities.
A must-attend event in Quebec
Christiane Lévesque, Executive Director of the 25th edition of the Festival des couleurs de Rigaud, expressed her gratitude to all volunteers, partners, festival-goers, and the organizing committee who exceeded expectations, especially in their proactive response to the cancellation on October 7: «This 25th edition will remain engraved in our hearts. We celebrated in grand style with a diverse program, exciting novelties, and a record number of registered vendors and artisans. Once again, we provided an enriched and unforgettable experience, despite the uncontrollable weather conditions, the cancellation of one day of the festival, and the changes made to the schedule. I want to personally and sincerely thank everyone who got involved with us this year. We achieved an incredible feat.»
The Festival des couleurs de Rigaud has become a must-attend event for music and festivities enthusiasts. We thank all the festival-goers who made this 25th edition an exceptional success.
