At the corner of routes 201 and 338
An initiative that brightens up the daily lives of Coteaulac residents is back!
True to form, the City of Coteau-du-Lac's Public Works employees have put their creativity to good use and created a Halloween decoration to brighten up road users and passers-by on routes 201 and 338.
How much assembly time is required to achieve the result we've been admiring for the past few days at this key intersection? According to the city, about five. The installation of this Harry Potter-themed set was made possible by the rainy weather of the past few days.
The theme of the set stems from the city's desire to find a theme that appeals to young and old alike. "The team is taking into account the materials and accessories they already have in stock, which can be used to build a new stage that can be adapted to suit specific holidays, such as Halloween and Christmas" says Marie-Claude Côté, the town's communications director.
Coteau-du-Lac residents will thus see the stage transformed after Halloween to take on its holiday finery.
The budget for the project is around $1,200, as many of the decorations and materials are recycled or reused.
Every year, the Public Works team is happy to contribute to this initiative. "Creating a decoration at this location is always a privilege for the Public Works team. Every year, the employees receive good feedback and it's gratifying for those who put their heart into it. We know that some citizens are even eager to see the creations: they stop by, take photos and thank us. We also think that it beautifies the area and creates a visual attraction that many appreciate" concludes Josiane Dalcourt, horticulturist with the City of Coteau-du-Lac.
