CACVS calls on Vaudreuil-Soulages artists
The MRC of Vaudreuil-Soulanges is launching a call for proposals from visual and digital artists to illustrate the cover page of the official document entitled: Plan de gestion des matières résiduelles de la MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges 2024-2030.
Accordingly, the Conseil des arts et de la culture de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (CACVS) is seeking a visual or digital artist to produce an original work to illustrate the cover page of the Plan de gestion des matières résiduelles de la MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges 2024-2030.
The proposal must promote the 3RV principles (Reduce at source, Reuse, Recycle, Reclaim) and the regional nature of the PGMR.
The deadline for proposals is 11:59 p.m. on November 12.
The situation
Under the Environment Quality Act (EQA), Quebec's RCMs are required to draw up a residual materials management plan (RMMP). The purpose of this plan is to develop and implement concrete measures to achieve the objectives of the Quebec Residual Materials Management Policy and its Action Plan.
The PGMR must be revised every seven years by the Council of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC. It covers the 12 MRC municipalities outside the CMM.
In line with the Quebec Residual Materials Management Policy (Politique québécoise de gestion des matières résiduelles) and its 2019-2024 Action Plan, the ultimate goal of the PGMR is to reduce the amount of residual materials disposed of. Five major orientations are proposed in the MRC's PGMR 2024-2030 to achieve this objective:
- Promote reduction at source and reuse;
- Increase the recovery of organic materials;
- Optimize recycling services;
- Increase information, awareness and education efforts;
- Improve the performance of the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) and Construction, Renovation and Demolition (CRD) waste sectors.
