Starting October 7 : rain or shine
Reminder: the Halloween trail starts tomorrow at Harwood Nature Park
Tomorrow, October 7, the Harwood Nature Park Halloween Trail begins. It's a free mobile app-based trail. From October 7 to 31, between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m., the public is invited to join in the fun. It's located at 3900, route Harwood in Vaudreuil-Dorion.
Vincent Bastien of the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion's Service des loisirs et de la culture was delighted to offer original programming in a different location this year.
"The park's layout lends itself well to the concept proposed by Parcours Ludiques, a forest sheltering the evil spirits of Halloween. We're hoping that people will flock to the park to enjoy the experience," he says.
Guided by a mobile application, adventurers take on challenges and solve riddles. Only one Internet-enabled smartphone per group is required. Simply download the free Parcours Ludiques app, available on the app Store or Google Play, and enter the access code VAUD123.
Lasting around an hour, this tour can be completed rain or shine. In case of rain, however, an umbrella and waterproof boots are recommended. For evening tours, participants should bring a headlamp or flashlight.
Special program on October 28, from 2 to 5 p.m. - 6 to 9 p.m., and October 29, from 1 to 4 p.m.
On these days, the atmosphere of Harwood Nature Park will be enhanced by the presence of curious characters and storytellers. The Mummy, the Illuminated Witch, the Stone Angel and the Giant Skeletons will roam the site to meet visitors.
Caravane Mozaïk will be on hand to hold a Halloween bag-decorating workshop. Those interested in participating should bring a bag or pillowcase. There will also be a face-painting station for children. Free candy and hot drinks will be available.
The complete Halloween program is available online on the Vaudreuil-Dorion's website in the Recreation and Culture section, under Activities and Events.
