At the Annual General Meeting of the Fondation du Cégep de Valleyfield held on Monday, September 18, it was with great emotion that President Odette Perron announced her resignation as President and member of the Board of Directors.

It is with great pride in the Foundation's achievements that she steps down from her role and leaves the torch to the next generation.

In addition, two directors, Jean-Pierre Courchesne, Treasurer, and André Camirand, Municipal Councillor for the City of Saint-Constant, have announced that they are not renewing their mandates on the Board of Directors.

Three new socio-economic representatives now sit on the Board of Directors: 

- Patrick Tanguay, President;

- Patricia Gagné Claude, Vice-President;

- Marco Pilon, Treasurer;

- Vickie Courchesne, socio-economic representative;

- Emmanuelle Lavigne-Landry, employee representative;

- Judy Pomminville, socio-economic representative;

- Stéphane Billette, socio-economic representative;

- Vanessa Roy, student representative;

 - Jean-Philippe Mathieu, socio-economic representative. 

The two ex-officio members of the committee are: Marc Rémillard, General Manager of Cégep de Valleyfield and Geneviève Boileau, Director of Corporate Affairs, Institutional Development and Communications - Secretary. 

Who are the new representatives? 

Marco Pilon is Director of Finance for the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion. Vickie Courchesne is Senior Advisor, Corporate and Government Affairs for the City of Saint-Constant, and Judy Pomminville is a real estate broker for Remax.

Tributes to their involvement

During the evening, Patrick Tanguay paid tribute to Odette Perron and Yves Trottier, General Manager of the Foundation, and thanked Jean-Pierre Courchesne. 

New roles

The role of President of the Foundation was filled at the Board of Directors meeting following the Annual General Meeting on September 18 by Patrick Tanguay, Site Director of OVHcloud in Beauharnois, and former Vice-President of the Foundation.

An alumnus of the Cégep de Valleyfield, he believes that higher education is important, which is why he is taking over the mandate. The role of Vice-Chairman was filled by Patricia Gagné Claude, Senior Manager of the Business Development Bank of Canada, and the role of Treasurer by Marco Pilon.
