It was a double bill this Thursday at the Soulanges Sports Center as the Soulanges U14 and U18 High School Pioneers were in action. It was time for final preparations for both teams as they played their last preparatory games.

First, in a hard-fought match, the U14s lost 1-0 to École secondaire de la Cité-des-Jeunes.

Forward Emerick Travers was voted Player of the Match for the Pioneers. Despite the defeat, assistant coach Nicolas Blanchet had nothing but good things to say about his team.  One phrase kept recurring in his speech... "We're ready for the season! We're ready for the season!"

Next up, the U18s also took on the Vaudreuil program. In an almost flawless performance, the Pionniers won 6-3.

Luka Dubois, Loic Primeau, Louis-Philippe Girard, Doualeh Ahmed, Émile Dupuy and Jacob Ducharme got on the scoresheet for Tristan Poissant's team. Power forward Jacob Ducharme was voted Player of the Game.

The three ESS teams will once again be ones to watch as the RSEQ season gets underway.
