Twenty firefighters responded to the scene
Rigaud home engulfed in flames this morning
A fire, the cause of which had not yet been identified at the time of writing, broke out in a Rigaud residence on Friday morning, September 30. In all, some twenty firefighters were on the scene.
Around 9:45 a.m. this morning, firefighters received a distress call to report the fire. The fire occurred at 773 chemin de la Baie, in a two-apartment residence.
"Fortunately, no injuries were reported. It is too early at this time to determine the cause of the fire. Searches are currently being conducted by members of our fire brigade, assisted by those of the Saint-Lazare fire department, to try to determine the cause and circumstances of the blaze", summarizes Sylvain Brazeau, Director of Rigaud's fire department.
It should be noted that the Hudson and Saint-Lazare fire departments provided mutual assistance on this call, while the Saint-Clet brigade was positioned at the Rigaud fire station in case of need.
"I should point out that we also had the assistance of CETAM paramedics, who remained on the scene to be ready to intervene if needed for one of our firefighters. The Sûreté du Québec also assisted us by controlling traffic on Chemin de la Baie during the response."
