The City of L'Île-Perrot announces the signature of a new collective agreement for its blue-collar and white-collar employees.

On September 6, the new collective agreement for unionized white-collar and blue-collar employees, represented by the Syndicat des travailleuses et travailleurs de la Ville de L'Île-Perrot - CSN, was officially signed in the presence of the members of the negotiating committee.

Adopted by the municipal council at its special meeting on July 4, this new working agreement is retroactive as of January 1, 2022, and will run for 6 years, ending on December 31, 2027. "The signing of this agreement demonstrates the City's commitment to continually work to improve its service to citizens," stated the press release.

Among the changes brought about by this new collective agreement are the opening of the library a few afternoons a week and the opening of City Hall during the lunch hour.

This is a major component of the agreement, as it responds to public demand. These openings will enable greater availability of municipal services to meet the various needs of the Perrot community. These schedule changes will be implemented at a later date. Details will be communicated this autumn.

Other points included in the agreement are an average salary increase of 2.42% per year, an adjustment to the calculation of vacation entitlement, a review of certain work schedules and the creation of regular positions.

The mayor of L'Île-Perrot, Pierre Séguin, declared: "The council and I are very proud of the work accomplished. The negotiating teams worked with determination to reach this agreement. Their commitment was essential to obtaining a collective agreement that addresses the concerns of both employees and the City. On the strength of this achievement, the team will continue to carry out stimulating projects over the coming year, with the aim of offering Perrot residents the best possible local service".
